At Summer Hill Dental, we have eliminated these obstacles by utilizing Humble Same-Day CEREC technology. This CAD/CAM system allows us to design, fabricate, and place your permanent crown in a single clinical session.

The transition from a damaged tooth to a fully restored smile is now a low-friction process. By keeping the entire fabrication process in-office at our Summerwood location, we remove the need for external dental laboratories. This gives our clinicians total control over the structural integrity and aesthetic match of your restoration, ensuring it integrates perfectly with your natural bite.

Your Step-by-Step Same-Day Crown Process

Digital Intraoral Scanning We begin by capturing a high-definition 3D digital map of your mouth.

• No More Putty: We use a small, handheld scanner to take thousands of images per second. This is much more comfortable for patients with a sensitive gag reflex.
• Mathematical Accuracy: The digital scan is far more precise than traditional molds, which can shrink or distort. This ensures the “seating” of your crown is perfect on the first try.

Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Once we have the digital map, our doctors use specialized software to design your crown right at the chairside.

• Anatomical Matching: We match the grooves and cusps of the new crown to your existing teeth to ensure your bite feels natural.
• Aesthetic Refinement: We select a block of high-grade ceramic that matches the exact translucency and shade of your surrounding enamel.

In-Office Milling and Characterization Your design is sent to our milling suite, where a diamond-coated bur carves your crown from a solid ceramic block.

• Biocompatible Materials: We use ceramic materials that are highly durable and compatible with your natural gingival tissue.
• Glazing and Polishing: Once milled, the crown is polished and fired in a specialized kiln to achieve its final strength and luster.

Final Placement Within the same appointment, we bond the permanent crown to your tooth. There is no need for a follow-up visit or additional numbing. You leave our Humble office with a fully functional, permanent restoration.
