DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dr. Bayless now offers dental implants for the replacement of one or more missing teeth. First, Dr. Bayless surgically places a titanium implant in the area of the missing tooth or teeth, then he creates a crown, bridge, or denture to attach to the implant. Because we believe it is best to have the same dentist place and restore your implants, Dr. Bayless has completed training in both phases of the implant procedure. This allows you to receive all of your implant treatment in one office, saving you the time and hassle of driving to separate offices.
Using a 3D CT image of your jawbone and state-of-the-art implant placement software, Dr. Bayless can place implants with more accuracy and safety than ever before. Computer-guided placement eliminates variability and helps our team avoid sensitive and critical structures such as nerve canals, sinus cavities, and blood vessels. For the patient, this convenience and precision can mean shorter treatment times and higher success rates for the implant procedure.
If you have been dealing with a missing tooth or multiple missing teeth, Dr. Bayless would be happy to discuss restorative and implant options with you. You can also watch the Education Video on implants to learn more about the general way implants are used in dentistry.

NEW CUTTING EDGE SALIVA TESTS

Recently, Oral DNA (a subsidiary of Quest Diagnostics) developed 3 new Saliva tests that can help dentists diagnose and treat oral disease. If a patient is diagnosed as having Periodontal Disease (Gum disease), a Saliva Test can be adminstered by Dr. Bayless to assess:
A) What different EXACT types of bacteria are inhabiting the patient's mouth in EXCESS of an established health threshold level, thus causing the Periodontal disease. This then allows Dr. Bayless to tailor his treatment plan and use systemic antibiotics targeted to these specific bacterium so that the disease process is more accurately curtailed and stabilized. This a huge breakthrough, in that now dentists can more specifically help individual patients by going after a specific patient's bacteria.
B) If the patient is genetically predisposed to having Periodontal disease. By examining the patient's DNA collected in his/her saliva, it can be determined if the patient has an increase likelihood to having an abnormal inflammatory reaction to plaque (biofilm). If this information is obtained, it allows the dentist and patient to know whether or not the patient's periodontal disease is maybe a one time occurance, or if it soemthing the patient will battle his or her entire life. Both test help increase the success rate of treating patients sufferring from periodontal disease. Please click below to learn more about the Periodontal Disease Saliva Tests.

Also, Oral DNA has developed an oral HPV Saliva test that Dr. Bayless can administer. This test assesses the patient's risk level for HPV-related Oral Cancer. HPV is now known to be a major player in the increasing problem of Oral Cancer. Please click on the links below to learn more about the HPV Saliva Test.

Sedation Dentistry
Dr. Bayless offers two safe sedation options for patients who feel anxious or fearful about dental visits:
NITROUS OXIDE, also known as “laughing gas”, is a blend of oxygen and nitrous oxide gases with a pleasant, sweet smell and taste. Inhaling nitrous oxide during treatment creates a sense of well-being and relaxation and can increase your pain threshold, which makes it easier for our team to administer anesthetic injections and complete dental procedures. When your treatment is over, Dr. Bayless slowly increases the oxygen percentage of the gas mixture, eliminating the mild sedation within minutes. The majority of patients who have received nitrous oxide experience no lingering effects and are able to leave our office immediately after treatment.
If you suffer from severe dental anxiety or fear, ORAL CONSCIOUS SEDATION can help you get the dental treatment you need. We ask that you arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment so our team can provide a carefully measured amount of oral sedation medication that will help you feel very calm and relaxed. During treatment, if Dr. Bayless decides it is necessary, he can administer a dose of nitrous oxide in addition to the medication to make you more comfortable. Prior to your sedation visit, Dr. Bayless will go through the proper preparation steps, from diet adjustments and possible side effects to having a friend or family member drive you to and from our office.

Powerful, Professional Teeth Whitening
- EASY WHITENING OPTION • USED FOR ONLY 3 MINUTES PER DAY• NO SENSITIVITY*NO GIMMICK LIGHT

In addition to giving you the benefit of a cleaner looking and more attractive smile, whiter teeth can also enhance your self-confidence and self-esteem. As a bonus, whitening can lead to healthier teeth because when your teeth look better, you tend to take better care of them to keep them looking terrific. Ask us about brightening your smile at your next visit. We offer Sapphire Home Whiting with custom trays. It only takes 3 minutes a day due to the high strength of the hydrogen carbimide used. If used for 3 minutes a day for 2 weeks straight, most patients show an 8-9 shade difference. You can rewhiten at any time, and there is virtually no senisivity. This is very different from many of the in-office whitening systems that cause major sensitivity and whiten your teeth for only 1 - 2 days. Try Sapphire Whitening today; you'll love the difference!
Tooth-Colored Fillings
Composite fillings can be adhesively held in place or “bonded.” Because they can be bonded to teeth, composite fillings allow for more conservative preparations where less healthy tooth structure is removed. This often results in smaller filings than that of amalgam (silver fillings), and they are more natural looking. The tooth-colored material is cured with a special light and the surface is shaped and polished to match the tooth, rendering the final restoration virtually undetectable to the eye and very natural feeling in the mouth.
Oraqix® No-Needle Anesthesia
NO-NEEDLE ANESTHESIA MEANS NO SHOTS FOR DEEP CLEANINGS! • NO NEED TO AVOID THE DENTIST ANY LONGER
Dr. Bayless also uses Oraqix® for effective, needle-free anesthesia. This product can be used in procedures that in the past required shots, such as deep cleanings. It uses a comfortable applicator and dispenser that apply Oraqix to the gumline around the area being treated. After just a minute, that area of your mouth is numb and your dental needs can be taken care of comfortably. AND the numbness of Oraqix won’t linger all day. Your mouth’s natural feeling will return quickly, so you can get on with life.
Digital X-rays & Digital Imaging
LESS RADIATION • ACCURATE DIAGNOSES • FASTER TO PROCESS • COMFORTABLE FOR YOU
Digital x-rays are faster than conventional x-rays, and they are comfortable for you. They also aid us to accurately diagnose your oral health needs. All with less radiation exposure! We employ digital imaging, as well, to show you how fabulous your new and improved smile could look, before treatment even begins. With no chemical processing needed, digital technology helps us do our part to keep the environment safe, too.
Intraoral Camera
SEE EXACTLY WHAT DR. BAYLESS SEES • HELPS ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS ABOUT TREATMENT
Using this camera, we can give you a “tour” of your mouth on a TV screen (which is really cool). We also use the camera to guide you through your diagnosis and treatment options. This is helpful in keeping our patients at the center of their treatment plans. We want you to understand your dental treatment at every step of the way, so you can make informed decisions for your oral health and smile.
Isolite System – Rest Your Jaw!
Happy patients spend less time in the chair with more comfort, so we use the Isolite System. This system has a soft and flexible mouthpiece to shield your tongue and cheek during procedures. It has a light to illuminate your mouth from the inside, so treatments are shadowless and more efficient. AND it has a place for you to rest your jaw. It also eliminates the need for cotton rolls and rinse breaks. All because your comfort is paramount, and we know you’ll especially appreciate the faster treatment times.
Dental Magnification Loupes
Excellent dental care requires exacting precision and attention to detail. We must work in very small spaces and be accurate to a fraction of a millimeter. To help us, Dr. Bayless and our hygienists use special prismatic magnification glasses, or “loupes.”
